A read on all 98 arborist search terms we track for sosstreeservices.com.au across Perth. Three days after the new build went live, here is the before and after: where SOS'S ranks now, the lift the new suburb pages delivered, the traffic that unlocks, and where to win next.
The new website went live three days ago, with dedicated landing pages for every suburb SOS'S serves. Here is the shift against the old site: from 16 terms ranking to 60, driven almost entirely by the new local pages.
Before = the old site, which had no dedicated suburb pages. Each term now ranking via a new /areas/ or /tree-services- page is measured from position 101 (the tracker's not-ranking floor), so positions gained is a conservative floor. Terms already ranking on the homepage are held at their current position rather than counted as gains. Swap in a dated pre-build export to make the baseline exact.

First, the money terms. These are the high-intent searches someone types when they need an arborist or tree work across Perth and its suburbs. Position here matters most, because these are the searches that turn into quotes. This is where SOS'S sits today.
The split is clear. The new suburb landing pages are ranking strongly, Fremantle, Applecross, Subiaco, Cottesloe and South Perth are already stacked with top-ten positions, while the broad metro "Perth" terms still sit on the old homepage at 30 to 45. The local pages proved the approach in three days; the Perth-wide terms are the next page to rebuild.
Across all 98 tracked terms, here is how the rankings spread three days after launch. A strong cluster is already on page one, with a tail of suburb terms climbing and the metro terms still to rebuild.
60 of 98 terms now rank in Google's top 100, up from 16 on the old site, with 35 already on page one and 5 in the top three. For a site live three days, that is an exceptional start. The 38 terms still outside the top 100 are mostly the services not yet given their own suburb page, plus the competitive metro terms, the clear next tranche to build.
The reason position matters is clicks. Applying standard click-through rates by position to the estimated search volume for every tracked term, here is the traffic the new site is already earning, and the headroom still ahead.
How this is modelled: each term's estimated AU monthly search volume is multiplied by a standard organic click-through rate for its current position (roughly 27% at #1, 15% at #2, 11% at #3, tapering to under 1% past page one and effectively zero beyond the top 100). The "on the table" figure is the extra clicks from lifting each term to a top-three click-through rate, floored per term. Volumes are conservative estimates for illustration and can be swapped for a live Ahrefs export. Figures are indicative, not a guarantee.
With the suburb pages ranking, the quickest returns come from three places: the page-two terms a nudge lifts onto page one, the page-one terms worth climbing into the top three, and the higher-volume terms still to build. Here is the order we would work them.
Grouping the terms by suburb shows which landing pages are working and where the remaining clicks sit. This is how we would prioritise the next round of page and content work.
First, push the page-two suburb terms onto page one, the quickest, most visible gains on pages that already rank. Then climb the page-one terms into the top three, where the bulk of the clicks sit. In parallel, rebuild the broad "Perth" metro terms, still stranded on the old homepage at 30 to 45, into dedicated pages like the suburbs now have. That sequence keeps compounding the estimated 492 clicks still on the table into booked jobs.
